Created in response to an overwhelming need for stylish, wearable, and modern bridesmaid dresses, Bella Bridesmaid, San Francisco's first and only bridesmaid-exclusive boutique, has in a very short time swept the wedding fashion industry off its feet. The intimate and inviting shop, opened just a year ago, offers high fashion but low snobbery and stands a testament to the changing attitudes and trends illustrated in today's weddings. Operating out of a Victorian in the City's Cow Hollow district, Bella Bridesmaid features local designer Aimee Stephens, for whom it is the exclusive distributor, as well as the whimsical New York label Thread, and New York couture designer Kathlin Argiro. The store also carries accessories to finish off the dress, including a shoe line for brides and bridesmaids in a variety of styles and colors, a customizable handbag line by a local designer Saeyoung Vu, and wraps in every fabric imaginable, including tulle, chiffon, satin, organza, silk, and pashmina. Today's bridesmaid dresses are much more about sleek lines and fine fabric than lace and bows, said Bella Bridesmaid owner Bridget Wells. What I do is offer these fashionable dresses, as well as other classy bridesmaid products, all in a one-stop shop.
