Selby Avenue Fashion Extravaganza Hosted by Local Businesses

Selby Avenue businesses have teamed up to present the Selby Avenue Fashion Extravaganza: Your Wedding Needs…Selby Avenue.

Selby Avenue offers an amazingly unique combination of wedding necessities. From the grooms dinner or reception at one of Selby's many restaurants, to hair and makeup at one of the avenue's hair salons, to dresses at one of two wedding dress shops and florists - Selby has what couples need for a magnificent wedding. Few places have such an array of wedding services as does this charming and historic commercial corridor.

Event highlights include:

Door prizes and merchandise giveaways from participating businesses

Wide range of fashions including bridal gowns, mother of the bride dresses, and fashion for guests

Wine tasting

Hors d’oeuvres

Wedding cake

Musical entertainment

This is shaping up to be a very exciting and elegant event for Selby Avenue, stated Selby Area CDC Executive Director Stacey Millett. This shows a spirit of cooperation that is what we like to think of as the Selby Way.

Participating businesses in the Your Wedding Needs…Selby Avenue include Amethyst Portrait Photography, The Bridal Emporium, Bouquets by Carolyn, Precious Goody’s, Walker West Music Academy, Selby Wine and Spirits, Mississippi Market, Clothes Encounters of the Plus Kind, A Piece of Cake, and Morning Glory Boutique.

The Selby Area Community Development Corporation, Inc. is working with local businesses to sponsor the event. The Selby Area CDC provides leadership for community, housing and business development initiatives that engages and benefits the areas diverse people and neighborhoods.
